And it's funny because both my husband and I both have similar stories of blacker than black figures appearing at the foot of our beds when we were teenagers, though neither of our incidents were related to the Innocents. They were both related to Ouija board phenomena though, and I have theories about that, but that's another story. . .

Back to the Innocents, I am glad that so many people seem to have such profound memories of seeing it. It's a film that deserves it's reputation for inducing real fright.rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15976184436247100656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5571500675658023951.post-18442532442781027302008-10-27T11:35:00.000-07:002008-10-27T11:35:00.000-07:00i first watched this movie at a slumber party as a...i first watched this movie at a slumber party as a kid...it was the most fun slumber party ever! and of course we were all terrified by the movie and no one slept at all!cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10331689337299062712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5571500675658023951.post-51098802243077892562008-10-26T12:50:00.000-07:002008-10-26T12:50:00.000-07:00i woke up in the middle of the night and saw the s...i woke up in the middle of the night and saw the silhouette of man walk across the room, at the foot of my bed. the room was pitch black, but the silhouette was some how blacker than pitch. at first i thought it was a real person. the figure seemed solid in form. i was scared to death.... frozen. all i could think was how did he get in? but as the figure crossed the room it gradually disappeared into the darkness. well i thought it was just prolly my imagination. me being creeped out by the innocents.

a year or so later i was chatting with two other girls that lived in my apartment complex. it was an old house built in the 1920's with only five apartments, [in washington state]. we somehow got on the subject of ghosts. the girl across the hall said she had sensed things in the building, as well as a couple of her friends. i told them my ghost story of the silhouette man + about all the crazy ouija board action as well. [that's a whole other story]. i think we sat there for about two/three hours swapping ghost stories.

the next day i ran into the girl that lived below me. she said, "i have something to tell you. i didn't say this yesterday because i didn't want to scare you." she said she saw the very exact same figure in her room about a month ago. it happened to her in almost the very same way + it was about a year from the exact time i first saw the silhouette man.

so i guess it was a real ghost + not just my imagination. i only saw him that once. i didn't see any ghosts the other night when i watched the innocents, but it still creeped me out.

* i just realized that "creeped" is not a real word.... but i use the term "creeped out" all the time. oh well, sometimes its the best phrase to use to describe a situation, even if it's not a real word.micha michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16332649342155031077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5571500675658023951.post-1536521606095172152008-10-24T20:58:00.000-07:002008-10-24T20:58:00.000-07:00Kerry Kate - It doesn't bother me at all (the auto...Kerry Kate - It doesn't bother me at all (the autoplaying).

Micha - what was your ghost experience after watching The Innocents??

XOrebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15976184436247100656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5571500675658023951.post-46262592849057174622008-10-24T11:56:00.000-07:002008-10-24T11:56:00.000-07:00Thanks Rebecca! There is practically nothing (that I can find) wrong with it, and it affects me just as strongly with each viewing.

One of the elements that I adore the very most, is the song. The film would have been totally different and far less creepy if the song wasn't in the film, or even if it was different, in my opinion.
