In the film, Curse of the Bloodsuckers is a script for a vampire movie that the main character (played by Jon Pertwee) is presently starring in. I don't know if it is based on anything authentic, or if it was invented for the film...
However, they also show him reading "The Vampire, His Kith and Kin" by Montague Summers, and that is a real book. Montague Summers wrote several occult themed books in his time, and they are all good! (At least the ones I have read are.)
ps. In another shot, the Actor 'Paul Henderson' (Jon Pertwee) has a large stack of books, and the one title that can be made out is "The Haunted Screen" by Lotte H. Eisner. I googled that title to see if it really existed - found it - and OMG! I want! I want!
If The Obscure Hollow was a real-life place, this book would be sitting squarely in the middle of it's antique coffee table.
