Oh how I would love to go to this: www.shiningparty.com/ A special screening of The Shining up in Oregon at the Timberline Lodge where Stanley Kubrick's film was actually shot. Takes place on October 31st and tickets go on sale on October 10th.
There was some very nice city shots and eerie use of shadows. My fav of course was the painting studio. Beware of beatniks, dark macabre art, long scenes involving a dancing girl on a beach and Sid Haig. Also made a gif of the metronome with the eye ball on it. How could I not? bottom right.....dont know how long thats going to live down there.
Very Kabuki style ghost story. Stunning Sets and eerie scenes. This film is a good ole revenge plot with a great ending I must say. Its hard to find on dvd as I can only find in the UK. There are some VHS sales on ebay for a hefty 80 dollars. Or, you can search tivo. I had origionally saw it on the independent channel.
This scene below was quite creepy. I will have to try to do a gif of it some how
There is nothing worse then trying to make a nice glass of absinthe and some brute not on the level comes and sticks a knife at your neck like this poor fellow in THE GHOUL
