I took a tour of the Dunsmuir-Hellman Historic Estate where this was filmed last weekend in Oakland California. The Mansion has been in films like this film Burnt Offerings and Phantasm.
I highly recommended taking one of their tours if you are ever in the area.

The Haunted Palace (1963)

Now for the fifth and final Lovecraft film selection. The Haunted Palace is billed as an Edgar Allen Poe adaptation. There are a few Poe recitations, but it's really based on Lovecraft's novella, "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward".
